A: In a groundbreaking study, Iams researchers fed pregnant dogs and their puppies two diets. One diet contained increased levels of DHA, one of the omega-3 fatty acids and the other diet contained typical levels. The puppies were asked to recognize a symbol, either a circle or a square, which meant go Left for a treat or go Right for a treat. The dogs fed the enhanced levels of DHA had a 68% success rate in learning the task vs. only 30% for puppies fed typical levels of dietary DHA. All dry Eukanuba puppy formulas and Active Performance 28/18 (because it is recommended for pregnant females) now contain enhanced levels of DHA.
